Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

We realise that it can be difficult to find the time to see your doctor. We also understand that you may have multiple problems that you would like to discuss with us. The same applies to the person sitting next to you in the waiting room.

We endeavour to deal with all your problems in one slot, however sometimes we cannot safely do so in allocated time. Remember, we have a responsibility to all of our patients to try and be timely. Please try and keep to one problem per consultation, and please don’t be offended if the doctor asks you to come again to discuss your other problems.

Home visits

If possible please try to telephone reception on 01206 302522 before 10:00am if you require a home visit.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP or Nurse Practitioner will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
