I am very pleased to announce that the practice will be holding its first Covid vaccination clinic on Friday 29th January for the remaining group of patients who are over 80 years of age.
All those eligible over 80, including housebound patients will be vaccinated on this day. This is not a walk in service, you must have an appointment.
Staff from Colne Medical Centre will be calling all patients in the next two days to make a booking; please do not call us, we will call you.
If you are housebound the clinical team will arrange to visit you for your vaccine on the same day, Friday 29th January.
Before you arrive at the surgery please remember the following:
- Arrive no more than 5 minutes early to avoid causing long queues
- Wear a mask
- Write your next of kin/ emergency contact down on a piece of paper (this will speed up the booking process)
- Wear loose clothing so that your upper arm can be easily exposed
- Bring an umbrella if it is raining.
A note for the next priority group
Please be patient; arranging vaccine clinics, sourcing vaccine supply, organising additional staffing and adhering to enhanced infection control guidance whilst keeping normal services running for our community is not a simple process.
It is however, something that all the staff at Colne Medical Centre are passionate about and are keen to proceed with and hope to continue.
If you are able to please share this message to others in the community who may feel they have been ‘forgotten’ by the surgery as they have not yet been called for an appointment.
